Community Meetings & 2017 Town Hall Focus of Board Meeting

Forty-five members of the Academy’s board were in attendance to review the organization’s 2016 activities and chart the course for 2017 and early 2018. During the meeting, the 2016 officers were acknowledged and thanked for their leadership,  and the 2017 officers and new members of the board were announced and welcomed. The board members discussed the upcoming Spring and Summer community meetings and listening sessions, along with the October 2017 Town Hall.

We’re ready to hit the road, bringing opportunities to learn, discuss and collaborate on Oklahoma public policy to a community near you. We are scheduling community meetings February through July and will bring with us the 2017-2020 Strategic Policy Goals that were developed by Town Hall participants and re-confirmed through our 2016 community meetings. We will also be sharing information about the 2017 Town Hall on Voter Engagement.

As community events are scheduled, we will be alerting you to calendar updates through our website, email and social media. Please make plans to attend an event near you. If you would like to join the planing committee for your region, schedule a a presentation for a civic organization or otherwise get involved in setting up a meeting in your community, please send an email to julie@okacademy.org or jamie@okacademy.org. We look forward to seeing you!
