Denney & Harper named Co-Chairs of Awareness and Action Task
Recently the Oklahoma Academy announced the creation of the Awareness and Action Task Force. This Task Force is being comprised of members of the Academy who want to encourage their personal network of fellow members and colleagues to contact their legislators and share their opinions on the Academy Town Hall recommendations.

This week the Academy is pleased to announce the co-chairs who will lead the Task Force are Lee Denney and John Harper.

“We are delighted Lee and John are so willing to serve as the co-chairs of this important Task Force,” said Julie Knutson, President and CEO of The Oklahoma Academy. “These two individuals have been such a strong voice for Oklahoma in the public and private sectors, and are dedicated to improving our state, one public policy at a time. They, just as the Academy, believe the people should be well-informed, have a say in our future and quality of life, and are committed to improving the state through the implementation of the Academy’s Town Hall recommendations.”

The Purpose of the Task Force:

• Provide additional opportunity for Academy members to stay aware of the Academy Town Hall recommendations within pieces of legislation, and in some cases, address specific areas of focus;

• Encourage the Task Force members to share the information with their circles of influence to broaden awareness of the legislation, and to help them in visiting with their legislators. This could include a casual meeting over coffee with your legislators along with two members of the community to share the Town Hall’s recommendations and the Academy process;

• Where opportunity appears, work with other groups who also are focusing on legislation the Academy is watching and hope to have positive action achieved and ultimately implemented.
