23rd Annual Oklahoma Academy Salute

It?s official - Summer is underway in Oklahoma and that means we?ve turned our full attention to the 23rd Annual Salute, our biggest event and only fundraiser. The Salute is Friday, August 19th at the Southern Hills Marriott in Tulsa.

Please join Academy members, supporters and the Honorary Salute Chairs Joan M. and Phil B. Albert for a fun and lively evening. Gov. Frank Keating and Mike Turpen will be the evening masters of ceremony and the Capitol Steps are returning to entertain us. Dr. Thomas McKeon, Executive Director and Vice President, City Year Tulsa, is the 2016 Oklahoma Academy Award Recipient.

Tickets for the Oklahoma Academy Salute are on sale now and can be purchased here. Individual tickets for members are $150 and couples tickets are $275. For non-members tickets are $175 for individuals and $300 for couples. Table sponsorships for the Salute are available. Please contact Lori Harless (lori@okacademy.org) for more details.

Any members in the Sulphur area who would like to attend the Thursday evening dinner and social from 5:30pm - 8:00pm are welcome to do so. The cost to attend the dinner is $35. Outreach Forums and Receptions

We spent the Spring traveling the Oklahoma highways visiting folks in each region of the state to discuss the results of both the 2015 Town Hall on Oklahoma?s taxes and budget priorities and the 55th Legislative session. Take a moment to read Oklahoma Academy CEO Julie Knutson?s summary of the legislative session here.

We saw Oklahoma Academy members and met policy minded citizens in Idabel, Weatherford, Jay, Vinita, South Grand Lake, Seminole, Chickasha, Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Thank you to our Regional Membership Chairs Alba Weaver, Teresa Burkett, Brian Gaddy, Michael Gordon, Molly Helm, and Brenda Porton for organizing these events and to everyone who came out to support the Oklahoma Academy.

Regional outreach forums and receptions will resume in September. If you?d like to organize an event in your community, please contact us.
