This is a promising year for state policy recommendations
Several members of the Oklahoma Legislature have proposed legislation for 2019 that were recommendations during the 2017 Town Hall that focused on improving the election process, voter access and informed voter engagement. Two such bills that would update the state’s election laws have been filed in the Senate. 

 The first measure, authored by State Sen. J.J. Dossett, of Owasso, would eliminate straight-party voting - a ballot option where voters mark one box to select all candidates of a specific party. The State of Oklahoma currently recognizes three political parties: Democrat, Libertarian, and Republican.
